Project Scope: Supervision of Construction, Operation & Maintenance of 2-Lane Uni-Directional Silkyara Bend –
Barkot Tunnel with escape passage including approaches on Dharasu-Yamunotri section between Ch. 25.4 Km
and Ch. 51.0 Km falling along NH-34 (Old NH-94) in the state of Uttarakhand on EPC Mode; Total length of
tunnel is 4531 m, approach road length is 328 m, diameter of tunnel is 14 m including 2 culverts; with a project
cost value of ₹ 853.759 Cr
Construction and supervise the underground excavation of Highway road tunnel by NATM methodology as Sequential
Excavation Method.
Supervise and implement the daily tunnel work activities such as Driiling Blasting, Geological Mapping along with the
Geologist, Primary Support including Wiremesh fixing, Lattice Girder Erection, Shotcrete, Self Drilling Rock bolts
and Grouting as per the construction drawing
Tunnel Waterproofing of Main & Escape tunnel using Geotextile & PVC membrane.
Supervise and construction of Tunnel lining and concrete works for Main & Escape tunnel, Emergency Niche, and Vehicle
Lay-by areas.
Prepare method statements, safe work procedures, risk register, daily/weekly reports, tunnel progress reports, and
other tunnel related documentation.
Supervision of all complete primary support systems as per the rock class. Handling of explosives and charging.
Monitoring of all testing’s like Pull out test for Rock bolts, Slump test for Shotcrete, monitoring of convergence
& displacement in tunnels by Extensometer and by means of optical targets.
Monitoring of Tunnel through 3D Targets, MPBX, Load cells, Extensotape, Sound Impact Test.
Achievement of 1920 m of Silkyara Bend Barkot Tunnel out of 4531m.
